Dollar maintains downward trend as new week begins
The US dollar continued to lose value against the rupee in the first trading session of the week, continuing the trend seen in preceding weeks.
The greenback shed 79 paisas to reach Rs276.83 at the closing of the interbank foreign exchange market on Monday as against the closing of Rs277.62 the previous day.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange also recorded a positive session amid improved investors’ sentiment as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 237.88 points or 0.48% to reach 49,731.35 at the closing of the market.
Meanwhile, the KSE-30 Index recorded minor losses as the Index shed 5.67 points or 0.03% to reach 17,125.83 levels
