Like, many others, TV host Mathira also believes that women have an important role in children’s upbringing. But her definition also includes those who disrespect women.

“I think if a man has become a son of a** **** so behind him is a woman and that woman is his mother,” she said in an interview with Excuse Me with Ahmed Ali Butt that was uploaded on YouTube on Thursday.

She was responding to a query on feminism and the treatment of men by certain women.

Mathira rose to prominence through her style of hosting. She started her career as a VJ and now she is hosting a show on a private news channel.

In response to the query, the TV host stated that she is not a feminist and she believes in human rights. The Naagin actor shared her experience, saying that she always ask her three sons to respect women regardless of their caste or class.

“I have three sons. If I always consider them superior [or] if I would say no this is a job of a boy or why you are doing or all these things, dishes, or if he has misbehaved with any girl and I would say he is the son of a lion or my son can never be wrong so mothers like this create a** ****. So please understand one thing that behind a horrible man who has got no respect for women is also because of a woman who pushed him to that zone,” Mathira said.

In her advice to children, she went on to add that always suggests to them to not stoop so low even if someone treated them unfairly. According to Mathira, relationships are fragile and one should only go for it when they are “mentally, financially, and emotionally ready.”

‘All fingers are not equal’

She is of the view that having a supportive life partner in life is a plus point. She described it as a “bonus” in life.

“I am a single parent. I know how hard it is to bring food to the table and to manage everything. It’s tough, so women should get off that high horse and understand appreciate if you have got a good man. If you have not got a good man then it’s good to leave him and continue your life.”

Mathira explains that all fingers are not the same, saying that both men and women can be bad. “That’s why I say I don’t believe in feminism. I believe in human rights.”

Are men and women the same?

When asked, she said that both men and women are incomplete for each other. But she added that if two positive people join forces then they are complete.

“It’s hard to be incomplete. I chose to complete myself with my sons, so I see life like this I always tell my kids if your woman is earning, her money is her money but your money is her money. That’s how it should be and especially if she is like she is mother of your children, then she should be on a higher rank, like the guy should appreciate her.”

She termed marriage as “beautiful” and added that people should do it. When asked about her past experience, Mathira replied that God tests people in different forms: financially, emotionally, and through health.

She admitted that she is a spiritual person. “If my small ship is there, then it is because of the winds. I have seen miracles. I have seen due dates on my head and before due dates, I have seen things get sorted so when you ask that I am 110% spiritual. I consider my God as my best friend and as a father figure also.”
