FIR lodged against man over ‘beating daughter-in-law’ in Sheikhupura
A first information report was lodged against a man over beating his daughter-in-law after she did not serve him food on time in Punjab’s Sheikhupura on Monday.
“Police teams are conducting raids to arrest the accused,” the Sheikhupura police spokesperson said in a post on X, erstwhile Twitter. “The police are in touch with the affected woman and all the requirements of justice will be met.”
The case was registered after a video surfaced on social media showing a man beating a woman. The video post on X claimed that the suspect was a father-in-law.
The case was registered under sections 324 (attempt to commit qatl-i-amd), 292 (sale, etc., of obscene books, etc), and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The complaint alleged that the suspect was cursing and threatening the victim in the video.
