PMLN to begin rallies in Lahore from today
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz is set to build up momentum towards the party chief’s return to the country with a series of rallies beginning on Sunday.
Although Nawaz’s October 21 return is still weeks away, Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz will begin to mobilise workers starting with a rally in Na-123, Shahdra in Lahore on Sunday.
Both leaders are expected to address the rally which will begin at 7pm.
Sources have also claimed that Nawaz’s legal team will apply for protective bail two days before he lands in Pakistan. Party sources have expressed optimism that the former prime minister will get three to seven days of bail after which law enforcement agencies will not be able to arrest him on arrival.
Nawaz will address a public rally at the Minar-e-Pakistan after which he will travel to Islamabad and surrender in court. The party hopes that since Maryam Nawaz has been granted relief in the same case that Nawaz is convicted in, the former prime minister will likely get a favourable verdict as well.
The PMLN supremo has been in exile since 209 when courts allowed him to travel on medical grounds. He has mostly spent the time in London.
