Rains to hit parts of country from tomorrow as monsoon withdraws
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast thundershowers in parts of the country as the monsoon season withdraws from the country. Snowfall is also expected in the hilly areas of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Meteorological Department said that a westerly wave is likely to enter the upper parts tomorrow (Thursday).
“Rain-wind/thunderstorm with hailstorm (at isolated places) is expected in Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Haripur, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Murree, Galliyat,” the Met department said.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur and Sheikhupura are also likely to receive rain on September 28 September 29, it added.
Snowfall over the high mountains in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan during the period had been forecasted from September 29-30.
“Rain-wind/thunderstorm (moderate to isolated heavy falls) is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar) from September 28 to September 30th.
