Rupee extends gains in interbank market
The flight in the value of the rupee continued in the interbank foreign exchange market as it gained Rs1.02 against the dollar on Friday.
The greenback closed at Rs291.76, against the previous closing of Rs292.78, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.
In the open market, the dollar was available at Rs295 after it declined by Re1 on Friday.
“PKR gained (+5.3%, PKR 15.3) against $ in the last thirteen consecutive trading sessions,” the Arif Habib Limited said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange was moving in positive territory as the KSE-100 Index gained 219.03 points or 0.47% and closed at 46,421.15 in the last session of the week.
The KSE-30 Index shed 52.77 points, or 0.33%, as it closed at 16,260.22 levels on Friday.
