Three policemen wounded in exchange fire with Lakki Marwat locals
Three police personnel were injured in exchange fire with locals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat.
Reports said that the gun fight started when police tried to disarm local population of their personal weapons.
A police spokesperson said that the incident happened when police raided the spot on the information regarding the existence of absconders.
He added that when police reached the area, Bachkan Ahmad Zai located in the presinct of Sara-e-Gambila police station, the accused opened fire injuring three policemen, ASI Asif Iqbal, Constable Habib-ul-Rehman, and Constable Javed.
Locals, who allegedly opened fire stated that the police stopped local elders who were going to Ahmad Zai Luang Khel for reconciliation after a ten-year-old died in an accidental fire.
They added that the police had attempted to take weapons from locals and on their refusal to be disarmed the police opened fire.
However, the injured have been shifted to DHQ Hospital Lakki Marwat.
following the incident the police contingents have condoned the area.
