Heavy rain, thunderstorms to lash parts of Pakistan

Pakistan Meteorological Department on Monday predicted thunderstorms and rain in several parts of the country, while weather in a few areas will remain hot and humid.

Met office said that Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, lower Sindh, eastern Balochistan, and Kashmir will witness heavy downpours and thunderstorms.

However, some areas of the province Sindh, including Tharparker, Mithi, Umar Kot, Mirpur Khas, Thatha, Karachi, Sajawal, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Mutiari, Sanghar, Jamshoro, Khairpur, Dadu, Qambar Shahdadkot will receive rain on Monday.

Moreover, it is forecasted that the weather will remain humid and cloudy in other areas of Sind province.

Mercury in Karachi will stay between 30 to 31Celsius and the humidity level in the air has been recorded at 59 percent, added met office.

The PMD already predicted a downpour in Karachi, and as per the forecast, a fresh spell of monsoon is expected to enter Karachi.

“Wind-thunderstorms damaged structures like electric poles solar panels, etc. in Golarchi, a district of Sindh. The general public is advised to stay at safe places during wind-storm/lightning/heavy rains,” the PMD said in its forecast on September 13.
