The administration imposed on Friday an emergency in twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, in view of the torrential rains.

The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has been kept on high alert. According to Wasa and National Disaster Management Authority, around 20 milliliter rain was recorded in the twin cities.

Wasa spokesperson added that Nala Lai was being monitored.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department had warned that moderate to heavy falls might increase the water flows in local nullahs in Rawalpindi/Islamabad from September 17 to 19.
