The tradition of entralling the audience continued on the fifth day of the Pakistan theatre festival when a theatre play ‘Biwi Ho to Apni’ was presented.

The play which was staged at Arts Council Karachi was unique in accordance with its name which story rotates around a man Saleem who is 50 years old and gets married to 25-year-old Amna.

The play became more interesting when Saleem’s pre-marriage life began to be revealed.

Saleem was the epicenter of drama, a middle-aged rich and romantic man. Before his marriage he had many love affairs which created complications in his post-marriage life.

Following the revelation of his previous love life Saleem flees toward Swat but the past doesn’t allow him a peaceful life there either.

The energetic performance of artists and strong script with precious advice the viewers couldn’t stop themselves doling out praise to the team behind the show, and the hall echoed with applause.

Not only viewers but artists also enjoyed their acting as well. Hassan Raza applauded the direction of the theatre and also said that his character was too difficult but strong direction assisted him in playing it well.

However, the director of drama, Ayesha Hassan, said every character in the script was important and they enjoyed that very much.

Another artist who played the role of servant in the theatre said that was a pleasure for him to perform a script written by Kamal Ahmed Rizvi.

Regarding his role, he said that he was a servant who close to his employer, which was revised as “Angan Terha” in his mind which was played by Saleem Nasir.

Moreover, the entire cast of the play including; Hassan Raza, Farhan Alam Ghori, Anoshka Khalid, Rabia Khalid, Rizwan, Naveed Khizar Ansari, and others delivered commendable performances.
