The Counter Terrorism Department has decided to form a special cell in Islamabad to focus on investigating terror financing operations.

The cell will be headed by a grade 17 officer and will investigate cases that involve providing financial assistance to terror outfits.

The officer incharge of the cell will report directly to the CTD SSP.

The cell will also call upon help from other law enforcement agencies to expand the scope of investigation if necessary.

The cell will also be able to take action if it finds credible evidence of terror financing.
