PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh arrested
The police in Karachi arrested PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh on Wednesday as he arrived at the Sindh High Court seeking an injunction against his possible arrest.
Sheikh is one of the few PTI leaders who have not abandoned the party. He was the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly.
The police bundled him into a patroling van and whisked him away from outside the court premises.
The police were seeking Sheikh’s arrest in connection with the May 9 violence but the PTI leader had disappeared from the scene.
Sheikh on Wednesday filed a petition before the Sindh High Court seeking an order against his possible arrest.
Shortly before the arrest, he told reporters that he never ran away from the court despite facing an intense crackdown.
