The funeral prayers were offered for the national and provincial champion of Martial Arts Saleem Afridi on Monday. He was gunned down a day earlier in Bara tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He will be laid to rest in his hometown in Bara after his funeral prayers were offered.

Afridi was moved to the hospital a day earlier after unidentified assailants opened fire on him. The attackers escaped while the cause of the killing remains unknown.

On August 19, two terrorists were killed after security forces carried out an operation in the Bara area of district Khyber in KP.

Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in response to the presence of terrorists.
