Indian national arrested in Karachi for spying

An Indian national Akhil Dev has been arrested for spying in Karachi with his local facilitator.

Sources told Aaj News that police have also recovered two Indian passports, Iranian currency, and weapons from the accused identified as Akhil Dev and Zahoor Ahmed.

They were arrested in the jurisdiction of Kalakot police station.

The Indian national was spying on different sensitive areas of Pakistan, said the police in a statement issued to local journalists.

It added that the police were expecting big revelations to be made as they interrogated the suspects.

The police were also seeking more arrests, they said.

The arrest of an Indian national in Pakistan comes a day after the paramilitary Rangers announced that they had arrested six Indians near the border.
