Teaser of Shoaib Akhtar’s biopic released amid legal dispute
The first look teaser for former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar’s biopic ‘Rawalpindi Express’ was dropped online on Tuesday, with Gohar Rasheed playing the legendary cricketer.
Rasheed is replacing Uzair Jaswal in the file who parted ways with the project in November 2022 citing personal reasons.
Later, Shoaib Akhtar also announced the termination of the agreement with the makers of the movies. He cited failure to resolve disagreements amicably and constant contractual violations which resulted in the termination of agreement.
However, the makers of the movies continued filming the biopic.
In July, he obtained a stay order which prohibited the filming and release of the film until the final decision on the lawsuit was made.
Despite being entangled in the legal batter, the first look teaser of the much anticipated Rawalpindi Express (2023) – A Shoaib Akhtar Biopic, was released online.
The film revolves around the pacer’s childhood struggles, battles with several issues and a rise to success in international cricket.
