Terrorism court remands Imaan Mazari into three-day police custody
An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad granted the police three-day physical remand of human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari in a case pertaining to mutiny.
ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain announced the reserved decision after the completion of arguments from both sides. The court had allowed the Imaan to meet her family and lawyers.
Imaan, daughter of former human rights minister Shireen Mazari, was arrested on Sunday after the activist posted on social media platform X that unidentified people were breaking into her home. PTM MNA Ali Wazir was also arrested.
The police did not specify what case they were investigating the two. Imaan and Wazir have been vocal regarding the issues in Pakistan.

She was remanded to the police on Monday in a case pertaining to the FIR registered at the Tarnol police station.
Imaan’s lawyer prayed to the court for a judicial remand and added that the police have his client’s mobile and laptop.
The police have not got anything so far, he said and added that Imaan was among more than 900 suspects named in two cases of similar nature.
ATC Judge Zulqarnain asked what the accusation against Imaan was.
The prosecutor sought 10-day remand of the accused. While speaking about a rally, he said that anti-state slogans and speeches were made in the public gathering. He added that they want to have photogrammetric and voice-matching tests of the human rights lawyer.
Later, the court remanded Imaan into three-day police custody.
Mazari faint in her cell
Human rights activist Imaan Mazari claimed that she fainted on Sunday in her cell where a CTD inspector took away her poems books.
When asked about the washroom, she described it as “very bad”. Imaan said that she had a medical condition in which a patient has a problem with their kidneys and a doctor from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences had also appeared to inquire after her.
Shireen Mazari claimed that despite being unconscious, her daughter was not allowed to see a doctor.
