Maria B thinks women universities in Pakistan are under attack
Fashion designer Maria B has claimed that women’s universities in Pakistan were under attack as biological men were being given admission in safe spaces for women.
“Female bathrooms are now being invaded by biological men who feel like women,” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter with two unamused face emojis, on Friday.
The fashion designer was apparently expressing her anti-transgender views which she has been doing in the past also. Maria B also did this last year while sharing with the public a video of her and her sisters talking about the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2018.
She also criticised the press conference of Nayab Ali, director of Transgender Rights Consultants Pakistan (TRCT), after the decision of the Federal Shariat Court.
She alleged that women’s rights organisations, especially Aurat March, and religious parties have completely trampled the right of women to safe spaces by not speaking up against the transgender invasion in “our spaces!”
“As it is we live in a conservative society where parents hesitate to send their daughters for higher education. Forcing biological men into women’s universities under the garb of transgenders will be a great disservice to women’s education,” Maria B wrote.
The designer, who has been vocal against transpeople and their plight, claimed that parents would start stopping their daughters from getting an education as there were “men pretending to be women in the universities”.
She slammed the women’s organisations for allegedly not standing up for women’s rights and shutting women’s voices.
“Say no to transgender admissions in women’s colleges. Biological men should study in male colleges,” she said.
