PTI Chief Imran Khan was arrested on August 5, from his Lahore residence shortly after he was slapped with a five-year disqualification and three-year prison term in the Toshakhana criminal case.

An Islamabad sessions court handed down the jail sentence on Saturday after finding Khan guilty of ‘corrupt practices.’

The former prime minister was moved to the Attock jail after being brought to Islamabad via Motorway.

There were reports that Imran Khan would be imprisoned in Adiala Jail, but he was eventually taken to Attock Jail.

The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday allowed Imran Khan’s lawyers to meet him while refraining from making a final decision on the provision of A-class jail facilities.

His lawyers have filed a petition for Imran to be shifted to Adiala Jail as it is the closest to Islamabad’s courts where the PTI chief is facing multiple cases.
