Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that he will write to the president of Pakistan for the dissolution of the National Assembly tomorrow (Wednesday).

“After the end of our tenure tomorrow, I will write to the president to dissolve the assembly after which an interim government will come,” he said while addressing a ceremony at Convention Center in Islamabad on Tuesday.

He called for the upcoming government to work towards the development of the country by taking extraordinary measures.

The PM’s statement came amid reports of leaders from the coalition parties gathering in the federal capital, just a day before the assembly is scheduled to be dissolved, for distribution of the ministries in the interim setup.

Meanwhile, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz has said that the opposition has finalised three names for the caretaker prime minister.

“There has not been a meeting with the prime minister. It is expected that a meeting will be held tomorrow,” he told Aaj News while responding to a question regarding his meeting with PM Shehbaz for discussing the caretaker PM’s names.
