Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won a by-election in Peshawar’s Tehsil Mahra on Sunday.

Unofficial results from all 155 polling stations in Mathra showed that PTI’s Inamullah received 20,333 votes.

Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam’s Rafiullah was second with 13,564 voteswhile Jamat-e-Islami’s Iftikhar Ahmad has received 9,546 votes so far.

In the by-election for tehsil chairman Havelian, results from 56 polling stations showed indepndent candidate Uzair Sher Khan leading with 11,730 votes. PTI’s Iftikhar Khan stood second with 11,555 votes while Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s Malik Talha Asif received 7,757 votes.

The seat in Peshawar had been vacated after the death of the sitting chairman, while the seat in Havelian had been vacated by the incumbent’s murder.
