JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded of the prime minister and interim chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa conduct an inquiry into the Bajaur blast that killed over 35 people on Sunday.

“The JUI-F workers should reach the hospital to donate blood,” he tweeted on Sunday and advised his supporters to remain calm.

The Fazl-led faction of JUI was holding a workers’ convention in the district of KP when a massive explosion occurred and killed more than 35 people. The JUI-F chief condemned the blast and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives.

“May Allah raise the ranks of martyrs,” he said and prayed for the recovery of the injured. He demanded that the federal and provincial governments should provide the “best treatment” to the wounded.

Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, another senior leader of the party, also condemned the blast.

“The JUI-F is a peaceful political party which never believed in violence,” he said and claimed that the peace in the country was being destroyed under a plan.

Haider also urged party volunteers to rush to the hospital for blood donations.

“It is an attack against every Pakistani, not only against the JUI-F,” said Falur Rehman’s son Maulana Asad Mahmood. He demanded that the wounded must be air-carried to hospitals in Peshawar, located around 225 from Khar.

Former president Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also condemned the blast.

Zardari and Bilawal offered their condolences to Fazl on the martyrdom of workers. “Terrorists are everyone’s enemy,” he said.

The government should bring the sponsors of terrorists to justice, Bilawal said and called for eliminating the terrorist planners.
