Sindh MPA Muhammad Aslam Abro’s brother and nephew were killed after unidentified assailants opened fire on their vehicle in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority on Wednesday.

Superintendent of Police Investigation South Abrez Abbasi said that the deceased Akram Abro along with four people came under attack in Phase 7 of DHA as they left their residence located near Khayaban-e-Shamsheer.

He went on to add that two types of weapons were used in the attack as the police found spent shell casings of 9mm pistols and heavy weapons from the crime scene.

Abro succumbed to his injuries along with his son Shehryar Abro while two others were injured in the attack.

The Sindh Bar Council said that Akram Abro was a member of the Sindh Bar Council. He practised law in Jacobabad.

The deceased’s brother Muhammad Aslam Abro was elected to Sindh Assembly in 2018 on a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ticket. He was not in the vehicle at the time of the attack.
