Pakistan’s Hamza Khan reaches World Junior Squash Championship final
Pakistan’s Hamza Khan has qualified for the final of the World Junior Squash Championship on Saturday in Melbourne after defeating French player Melvil Scianimanico in the semi-final.
During the game, both players showcased their potential on the court as Khan defeated Scianimanico with a score of 11-8, 11-4, 10-12, 9-11, 13-11.
This is the first time after 13 years that a Pakistani player reached the final of the event. Amir Atlas reached the final of the World Junior Squash Championship in 2008.
Pakistan Television Network Sports announced the result of the final in a Twitter post.
“Pakistan’s Hamza Khan wins World Junior Squash Championship semi-final,” it wrote.
Earlier, the Pakistani squash sensation defeated Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 12-10 to book his spot in the final four.
Khan had reached the semifinals in the World Juniors tournament last year. He has won several titles in Pakistan and is ranked third in the international junior squash rankings.
