Fawad Chaudhry told to submit written apology in Election Commission

Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry was told to submit a written apology in the contempt of Election Commission case on Thursday.

A four-member commission led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja presided over the case proceedings on Thursday.

Fawad Chaudhry appeared in person along with his lawyer and was told to submit a written apology. Fawad added that he had no ‘personal problem’ with the chief election commissioner.

He added that he had made the statement because he was the party’s spokesman at the time.

However, Raja told Fawad that he had ‘insulted’ him and said that party chairman Imran Khan had also made remarks abou this wife.

Fawad responded that he should let the matter drop as he had already apologised verbally.

However, the ECP told him to submit a written apology an postponed proceedings till August 1.
