Two youths in Bijhari Sharif of Golarchi city in Sindh committed suicide on Monday after failing to get married of their own choice.

Saleem Shiekh, 24 and Haji, 22 who were also cousins, committed suicide by hanging from a tree nearby their house.

The Khorwah police arrived at the scene and shifted the bodies to the Taluka Golarchi Hospital for postmortem.

Father of Sheikh, Amu Sheikh, who is also the uncle of the other deceased, said that the two girls of his relatives also wanted to marry his son and nephew.

The elders of Sheikh biradari reached the area on Monday to give a decision on their marriages, he said, however, both cousins committed suicide early morning before a decision was reached on the matter.

The hospital staff handed over the bodies to the family after carrying out the post-mortem, while the police launched an investigation into the matter.
