Fauzia Bibi drops defamation suit after Imran Khan apologises
A defamation case filed by former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Fauzia Bibi was withdrawn after Imran Khan took back his allegations.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan had accused the MPA of being involved in horse trading in 2018. The MPA had denied the allegations and sent Imran Khan a defamation suit.
In his statement submitted through Qazi Anwar advocate, Imran Khan said he had no personal knowledge or evidence of any horsetrading during the Senate election in 2018.
The statement added that Imran Khan had made the statements against Fauzia Bibi based on a report prepared by the party and personally held her in high esteem.
Following Imran Khan’s explanation, Fauzia Bibi withdrew her case and the court wrapped up the matter.
Imran Khan had announced action against 20 of his party;s lawmakers for allegedly selling their votes in the Senate elections of 2018.
