Netflix to launch ‘first Pakistani show’
Reports were again circulating on social media that the first Pakistani show is soon to be launched on Netflix, according to a report.
“Pakistan’s first #Netflix project will soon go on the floor. Directed by Momina Duraid, it is based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s novel #JoBacheHainSangSamaitLo,” Entertainment Journalist Hasan Kazmi claimed on Twitter.
Initially, Fawad Khan and Ayesha Umar were reported to play the lead roles in the show. But it was later reported that Hamza Ali Abbasi, his wife Naimal Khawar and Mahira Khan were set to appear on the show.
Kazmi in his tweet said that Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Hania Aamir are set to appear on the show based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s novel. He went on to add that Momina Duraid will direct the show.
Ishtiaq is renowned for providing the industry with exceptional dramas such as Humsafar, Diyar-e-Dil, Udaari, Mata-e-Jan and Yaqeen ka Safar.
Humsafar and Udaari are among the blockbuster dramas of the Pakistani drama industry. Humsafar took Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan to the heights of their fame on the global stage.
While an official announcement regarding the name of the show has not been made by any of the people reported to be involved in the project, Momina Duraid Productions is reported to have been trying to launch the project for a long time.
