Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman demanded that Sweden’s mbassador to Pakistan be expelled over the recent incident of desecration of the Holy Quran.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, Naeem said that he condemned the incident and that Islam promoted respect for all religions in in its teachings.

He added that nothing was more sacred to Muslims than their holy book, and legislation should be done in the United Nations to prevent such events from happening again.

He also demanded that Sweden’s ambassador to Pakistan be expelled from the country and said the the west should not insult the religion of Islam. He also announced that the JI will protest against the event.

He also said that the west should know what the Holy Quran means to Muslims, and that each muslim would ‘sacrifice his life’ for the holy book and the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

A Swedish court had recently allowed a group to go ahead with its plan of desecrating the Holy Quran infront of the main mosque in Stockholm.

Although Swedish police rejected multiple recent requests for anti-Quran demonstrations in the past few months, the court has overruled those decisions, saying they infringed on freedom of speech.
