Hollywood actor Tom Cruise tweeted a video of his speed-flying stunt on Thursday, showing how the megastar did it for the latest part of his Mission Impossible (MI) franchise.

“It takes a true team effort to perform and film one of the most dangerous sports in the world - Speed Flying,” he wrote.

Movie director Christopher McQuarrie said that with Tom, there were no limits. The MI is famous for its thrill, action, and stunt scenes. The Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One also carries a stunt where he jumped off a cliff in Norway.

McQuarrie clarified that speed flying was not sky diving as the former was completely unpredictable as compared to the latter.

“We are gonna do spirals and we are landing at an incredibly high speed over 80km an hour,” Cruise said as the team has been training for a few years.

The team had to develop a gimble system, where stuntmen with cameras were flying along with the actor. Those cameras were operated in a helicopter. According to the lead actor, the weather was a determining factor in the scene.

The movie will be released on July 12, 2023 in the US.
