Pakistan Railways has announced a change in the route of Shalimar Express train which will now pass thruogh Faisalabad.

A statement from the railways said that the decision had been taken to provide maximum benefit to the public on a station with more public demand.

According to the new schedule the train will stop for five minutes at the Faisalabad station while travelling in both directions.

The train travelling down from Lahore to Karachi will stop at Faisalabad Station at 8:10 am and depart at 8:15 am.

The train travelling up from Karachi to Lahore will stop at Faisalabad at 9:45 pm and will start again at 9:50 pm.

The Shalimar Express originally travelled through the Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal route.
