May 9 accused’s brother says PTI throwing protestors under the bus
A man whose brother has been accused and arrested over the charges of being involved in the violent protests of May 9 has said blamed PTI propaganda for the events.
Tariq Hussain, whose brother Gohar Rehman has been arrested and handed over for trial to law enforcement officials, said that his brother was ‘fooled’ by Chairman PTI’s rhetoric.
He added that his brother would routinely listen to the PTI Chairman’s speeches. He also ‘appealed’ to the people of the country not to be swayed by the party;s narrative.
He also said that after instigating people to protest, the PTI chairman was now throwing his workers under the bus by disowning them. Hussain even said that the chairman was accusing his own workers of being intelligence agency personnel.
Hundreds of PTI supporters have been rounded up since the violent protests of May 9 in which several military and civilian installations were attacked after the party chairman’s arrest. The Corps Commander House in Lahore and the Radio Pakistan building in Peshawar were among the places that were attacked and ransacked.
