Reply sought from Sindh IG, home ministry over ‘detention of two brothers’
The Sindh High Court has sent notices to Sindh IG and the provincial interior ministry and sought their response by June 26 on the application of a family of the two brothers, who were allegedly taken into custody earlier this month.
The two brothers, Zardar Khan and Muhammad Nawaz, were picked up by people in plain clothes from Karachi’s Shireen Jinnah Colony on June 8, according to the plea. It added that the men also “warned” the family against submitting any complaint about the abduction of two brothers.
“The family went to the Boat Basin Police Station the very next day to inquire about their arrests, however, the officials at the station denied arresting the two brothers,” it added.
The family informed the court that the abducted brothers have not been produced before any court. They pleaded with the court to direct the relevant authorities for the release of their family members.
