Green Line train’s engine derails near Sindh’s Ghotki
The engine leading Green Line Express derailed near Sindh’s Ghotki, narrowly avoiding a serious accident on Sunday morning.
The accident occurred with the Green Line Express travelling up from Karachi towards Rawalpindi near Ghotki railway station when the train’s engine abruptly went off the track.
Despite the engine’s derailment, it fortunately avoided a collision with Fareed Express which had stopped on the loop line to let the Green Line Express pass.
No loss of life was reported in the incident.
However, the accident led to the Up track being blocked for all kinds of rail traffic leading to the Khyber Mail being held up near the Pano Aqil station.
The Down track was soon cleared for operation and the Fareed Express was sent on its way,
A relief train helped detach the affected engine from the Green Line train, while a fresh engine is being sent to the train for replacement.
