Tarar blames PTI chairman for Quetta lawyer killing
Special Assistant to Prime Minister Attaullah Tarar accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf of being behind the killing of Supreme Court lawyer Abdul Razzaq Shar in Quetta.
“This is not an ordinary incident,” Tarar said. “Abdul Razzaq Shar was targeted because he was pursuing a treason case against Imran Khan.” He was addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
Tarar said that Imran Khan would be nominated in the murder case and the Balochistan government and law enforcement agencies had been ordered to undertake a transparent investigation.
“You will not be able to get a stay order in this case and you will not be able to get bail in this case either,” he said.
“This is a message to all lawyers pursuing cases against Imran Khan,” Tarar said.
He added that the PTI had behaved as a terrorist party in the events of May 9 and had now decided to take lives to achieve its aim. He added that PTI had been on the path of terrorism since 2014.
Tarar said that the events of May 9 and the murder of Abdul Razaq Shar would not have happened if the judiciary had held the PTI accountable for its actions. Instead, he said, the PTI chairman had gained dozens of bails in a single proceeding and even been welcomed by the chief justice in the Supreme Court.
Shar was killed on Tuesday near Airport Road in Quetta.
