Retired officer loses Rs10m worth of foreign currency, gold to robbers
A gang of armed robbers broke into the house of a retired government officer in Karachi’s Federal B Area and took away gold and foreign currency in US and Canadian dollars worth Rs10 million.
Police said the armed robbers beat up the family, including women and children, after taking them hostage during the incident in Block 10 of the FB area, which falls in the jurisdiction of the Gulberg Police Station.
The money looted included at least Rs3.5 million worth of foreign currency including US and Canadian dollars.
Jewelry sets made of gold and silver were also taken away.
