Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said that he had found evidence that government buildings were attacked as part of an ‘organised conspiracy’.

In a video message posted to Twitter late on Monday, Imran said that after being released on bail he had finally found enough time to investigate and had found out that the attacks were orchestrated.

“We have video evidence of how armed people became part of the crowd and incited people to violence,” he said.

He also reiterated a call for an independent inquiry to find out who had been responsible for the attack.

“A judge does not make a decision before listening to both parties,” he said. “The electronic media is currently running a one-sided narrative.”

He added that a ‘mafia’ was taking advantage of the reaction to his arrest by the army and using it to target the party.

Imran also said that his party had never resorted to violence in 27 years of his existence.

“Even when I was shot, we did not resort to violence or vandalism,” he said.

“This is the London Plan, to ban Tehreek-e-Insaf and put Imran Khan in jail,” he said. “They want to harass our people so they don’t come out (to protest) again.”

However, he said that similar tactics had been used and had failed in East Pakistan, and told his supporters that peaceful protest is a ‘democratic right’.

“Do not waste this opportunity to fight for haqeeqi azadi,” he said.

Imran also posted two videos showing his sisters and PTI leader Yasmin Rashid trying to discourage protestors from attacking the corp commander house.

“Kindly do not go into the house,” Dr Yasmin can be seen saying, “we are here to protest.”

Imran’s statement came soon after a meeting of the corp commanders announced that people involved in the attacks on May 9 would be tried under the Army Act and the Official Secrets Act.

“The Forum expressed firm resolve that those involved in these heinous crimes against the military installations and personal/ equipment will be brought to justice,” an ISPR press release had said, adding that the army had evidence to know who was behind the attack aimed to achieve political motives.
