Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered authorities to arrest the Jinnah House attackers within 72 hours.

The prime minister gave the orders during his visit to the Safe City Authority.

He said that the shocking attack took place on May 9. “I have come to visit the police and army officers.”

The PML-N leader said that the Jinnah House has been completely burnt. “What the enemy could not do, unfortunately the armed mob did,” he said referring to PTI’s attack on the Corps Commander’s House in Lahore.

“They turned Jinnah House into ashes. Every room of Jinnah House is completely burnt and all historical items have been destroyed.”

The nation is sad after the tragic attack, he said. He termed them the “enemy of Pakistan”.

He vows to adopt a zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against miscreants saying that those who participated in the worst act will be punished.

JIT formed

The government has formed a joint investigation team over attacks on the GHQ Gate after the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan on May 9.

The SSP would head the investigation committee. The SDPO of Cantt, SDPO city, SHO RA Bazaar, and Civil Lines are also included in the committee.

A case of an attack on GHQ gate was registered in the RA Bazar police station.

PM condemns Imran Khan’s allegations against army chief

The PM “strongly” condemned the allegations of Imran Khan against the army chief, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

“The statement of Imran Niazi against the Pakistan army is proof of his low-minded mentality,” the premier was quoted as saying in an official handout on Friday. “This statement was a confession of the mastermind of the tragic incidents of May 9.”

In an informal conversation with the international media on Friday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan claimed that “one person” was behind the incidents.

PM Shehbaz alleged that it was the same mentality that prompted Khan to level murder accusations against the patriotic army, officers, and “concocted false stories” of cypher and foreign conspiracy.

“This is an expression of the real intentions of the anti-state mastermind of the terrorists. This is a confession that whatever happened on May 9 was done on the directions of Imran Niazi,” he added.

The prime minister said that such a statement was “proof that Imran Khan was behind the plan to desecrate” the monuments of martyrs and injured army men and “attacks” on sensitive installations and buildings.

“His [Khan] anger against [COAS] General Syed Asim Munir was that he [COAS] and the director general of ISI are aware of the worst corruption of Imran Niazi, his wife, Farah Gogi, and senior leadership of PTI,” he said.

According to the premier, Khan’s allegations against the army chief, who he described as “very admired in the rank and file and was appointed on merit”, were nothing but “ill-intentioned”.

The premier alleged that Khan was afraid of the army chief. “This kind of cheap talk against the chief of the brave army which is fighting against terrorism is akin to support for terrorists. The whole nation stood with armed forces and the army chief,” said PM Shehbaz.

The premier also tweeted on Saturday to condemn the accusations.

Khan’s allegations

“Only one person was responsible for all the incidents and that was […],” PTI chief Imran Khan has been quoted as saying by BBC Urdu.

“He feared that I will de-notify him when I will come to power,” Khan told reporters in an informal conversation after he was walked into court surrounded by lawyers and security forces. “I didn’t want to de-notify anyone.”

He appeared in the Islamabad High Court for a hearing of his bail petitions in a land allotment corruption case (Al-Qadir Trust), the same place where he was arrested three days ago.

He reiterated such an allegation while speaking to Secunder Kermani of Channel 4 News.
