It looks like Babar Azam has made a habit of delivering something special whenever he comes out to bat, especially in the ODI format.

Since taking over Virat Kohli in the rankings, the Pakistan all-format captain is unstoppable with the bat in the 50-over format and has broken several records.

On Friday, two more records tumbled to the prolific runs-getter when he came out to bat against New Zealand in the fourth ODI.

First, he went past South Africa legend Hashim Amla to become the quickest batter in history to score 5,000 ODI runs.

He achieved the feat in only 97 innings as compared to Amla, who made the record in 101 innings.

Moreover, the 28-year-old also ended his 11-month ODI century drought in the same game. He also became the fastest batter ever to score 18 ODI centuries. He has also scored 26 half-centuries.

The record of the quickest batter to 18 ODI tons also belonged to Amla, who took 102 innings. David Warner (115), Virat Kohli (119), and AB de Villiers (159) followed him.

Pakistan captain’s 17th century came against West Indies last year in June.
