Who is attending King Charles’ coronation in London?

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is among several other dignitaries, including indigenous leaders and astronauts, who will attend the coronation of King Charles at London’s Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

The prime minister reached London on Wednesday and was received by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Moazzam Ahmad Khan and Special Representative of the British Foreign Secretary David Gordon-MacLeod.

PM Shehbaz, during his stay, will also attend the meeting of heads of Commonwealth member countries.

Moreover, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Australian PM Anthony Albanese are also confirmed to attend the event.

Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko of Japan have also confirmed their attendance. Spain’s Queen Letizia and King Felipe will also be there.

Apart from that, Narendra Modi of India, China’s Xi Jinping, and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman haven’t confirmed their visit.

Around 2,000 guests including members of the British Royal Family, foreign royals and world leaders will join King Charles and Queen Camilla for the coronation.

VIPs including politicians from Australia, Cyprus, Italy and Germany are believed to have been invited to the historic ceremony in central London on May 6.

Moreover, US President Joe Biden confirmed that he will not go to the ceremony, however, First Lady Jill Biden will attend the event.
