Authorities have so far not identified the remains of a charred body, which was found in the agricultural lands of Qabool Tevnio village of Qambar Shahdadkot district last week.

“The body of a woman has not yet been identified and we have also searched if any other woman in Qambar-Shahdatkot or Larkana has gone missing,” SHO Anwar Brohi told Aaj News. “An announcement was made on social media platforms, news circulated through different newspapers, but no one has come forward to claim as the heir of the victim.”

Unidentified men torched the body on April 25 after spraying oil over it and wrapping it in a sack, the police claimed. Only a foot and hair of the burnt body remained, they said and claimed that the victim was around 20 years old.

The body was found on the premises of Wagan Police Station. The police took the body into custody and shifted it to the DHQ Hospital Qambar Shahdadkot. The body was later moved to the Civil Hospital Larkana.

Brohi added that it was premature to speak about the identity of the body. He claimed that the police were conducting geo-fencing to reach the suspects.

“We faced difficulty while carrying out the post-mortem on the body as it was severely burned. We moved the body to Larkana Civil Hospital for DNA tests, but have not received results yet,” DHO Sartaj Iqbal told Aaj News.
