The Kaghan highway was blocked for every form of traffic after an avalanche occurred near Naran Friday.

The National Highway Authority officials are currently busy removing snow using heavy machinery, the spokesperson said. The highway from Kaghan to Murree has been cleared for traffic.

Authorities have asked the tourist to avoid travelling to Naran during the Eid holidays.

On the other hand, access to Neelum Valley has been cut off from other areas after landslides at various places in Muzaffarabad.

Traffic police said that the road from Muzaffarabad to Sharda and Margalla has been restored and restoration work on Neelum Road is underway.

Last month, two villages in Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were cut off from other areas due to heavy snowfall and avalanches.

Several locals were stranded without food, medicine, and other necessary items after roads leading to Darkut village in the Ghizer district of GB and Broghil village in KP’s Chitral district were blocked.

Darkut village received heavy snowfall from February 13 to 17.
