One dead, three injured as fire engulfs Karachi’s generator market
A man died and three other were injured when a fire engulfed Karachi’s Liaquat Generator Market on Saturday.
At least 43 people were rescued safely.
Five fire tenders, two bowsers and a snorkel took part in extinguishing the fire, which spread through multiple floors.
The man who died in the blaze was identified as Ali. More details about him were still awaited.
“Fire erupted on the third floor and then spread to the tenth floor. No one is left in the building now,” Chief Fire Officer Ishtiaq Ahmed said.
He further said that the fire had been extinguished and the cooling process was going to start.
The multi-storey building houses shops, offices, and warehouses.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and ordered to take all necessary measures.
