Missile misfired during Indian army exercise in Rajasthan
A missile was misfired during a firing exercise by the Indian army at the Pokhran field firing range in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, ANI reported Saturday.
Defence spokesperson Amitabh Sharma said that the missile detonated in the air and its debris fell into the adjoining fields.
The incident happened during the military’s annual field firing drills at PFFR, he said. However, no loss of life or property was reported.
Moreover, he said that the investigation in underway into the matter.
This is not the first time, the Indian military came across such missile misfiring incident.
On March 09, 2022, a BrahMos missile was accidentally fired into the Pakistani territory. The Union Government took action in the matter and sacked three officers of the Indian Air Force (IAF) after the inquiry.
