A few hours after Punjab Information Minister Amir Mir said a person with links to a terrorist organisation was a part of the crowd against Imran Khan, the man himself emerged in a video.

In a video doing rounds on social media, Muhammad Iqbal, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf worker from Swat, has clarified that he has no links to any terror outfits.

He also said he strongly condemns the propaganda linking him to a terrorist group.

Iqbal says he joined PTI in October 2022 and is neither affliated with any other group or has been in the past.

He also said that he has no sinister motives in coming to Zaman Park and only came there at the call of Imran Khan, whom he considers his political leader.

He also said that labelling him as a terrorist was a political ploy to discredit PTI.

Iqbal said that though he had responded to Imran Khan’s call, he was not against any individual or any government.

Amir Mir had said that a former member of Tehreek-Nifaz-e-Shairat-e-Mohammadi and right hand man of Sufi Mohammad was in Zaman Park. Mir had also alleged that the man had been in jail for 8 years. However, he had stopped short of giving any names and said that the matter would be investigated after the current affair of Imran Khan’s arrest was over.
