A Karachi city court granted bail to multiple PTI protesters who were booked for vandalism earlier on Wednesday.

The police had registered six cases against PTI leaders and workers for rioting against the possible arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

The cases were registered at the Pirabad, Sachal, Shah Latif, Aziz Bhatti, North Nazimabad, and Docks police stations. The six cases nominated 500 unidentified people including the named PTI leaders and party workers.

Shah Latif police station

The Malir district court granted interim bail to PTI Karachi vice president Masroor Sial and six party workers.

The bail was granted at a bond of Rs10,000 per person.

Aziz Bhatti police station

The court granted bail to Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Alamgir Khan, and six others for a case filed against them for rioting. The case had been registered at Shah Latif police station. The bail was granted at a bond of Rs 30,000 per person. The case had nominated 31 protesters.

PTI lawyers asked the city court to remove section 324 (attempted murder) from the FIR.

The lawyers said that the Constitution allows every citizen the right to protest peacefully. The police baton-charged the protesters and also used teargas.

The court lawyer removed the section attempted murder from the case.

North Nazimabad police station

The city court granted bail to 12 people nominated in the case against PTI workers for rioting during the protests against the possible arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

The lawyer said that all of the FIR provisions were bailable.

Pirabad police station

The City Court granted bail to PTI MPA Saeed Afridi and nine others in a pre-arrest bail application regarding a case of rioting during a protest against PTI chairman’s arrest.

The bail was granted at a bond of Rs 30,000 per person.
