World journalists tweet Imran Khan’s iconic teargas shells image
PTI Chief Imran Khan has grabbed the world’s attention by releasing an image that shows him looking at a pile of spent teargas shells. The shells landed inside his Zaman Park house when it was under siege for 24 hours by the police and Rangers, Imran Khan said in a video on Wednesday.
Britian’s Christina Lamb is among international journalists who have tweeted the image expressing surprise and dismay over the events in Lahore on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“Astonishing scenes in Pakistan where former prime minister Imran Khan unveils scores of tear gas shells he says were fired at his residence in Lahore by police as supporters block attempts to arrest him,” wrote Lamb.
Lamb has reported extensively on Pakistan.
The image was tweeted by several other journalists and scholars including Sweden-based Indian professor Ashok Swain (@ashoswai).
