Twin attacks on KP census team kill 2 policemen
Two separate teams responsible for providing security to digital census teams in Tank and Lakki Marwat left two policemen dead and four injured on Monday.
The first attack happened within the jurisdiction of Gomal police station in Tank where unknown people fired on a police van which was patrolling to secure the area for the census team. The attack left four policement injured while, one was killed.
The shooters have still not been identified. The injured people were shifted to DHQ hospital.
The second attack took place in Pirwala, Lakki Marwat when a census team was attacked by two mask-clad men armed with guns. Constable Dil Jan was killed in the attack but the census team remained safe.
The first-ever digital census is underway in Pakistan with the aim of improving data accuracy and hopes to publis results by April 30.
