Supreme court questions why PAF is involved in real estate
The Supreme Court asked the National Accountability Bureau if it had taken action against the Air Force in the Fazaia property scam case on Friday.
Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the constitution made no allowance the air force to operate a real estate business in the country.
The remarks were made while hearing a NAB’s appeal against the exoneration of key culprits involved in a scam in Fazaia Housing Society.
Justice Minallah asked why the accused had been set without any security bonds. He also asked if the ‘real’ culprits were bein acted against. He added that NAB has simply arrested the parties who had made the payment.
The judge further added that the air force’s legal right to operate a property business must be considered an element in this case.
The case was adjourned indifinitely after the court ordered all facts about the main accused to be made part of the record.
