Experienced middle-order batter Iftikhar Ahmed continued his rich form with the bat as he became the second-highest run-getter in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.

The 32-year-old smashed an unbeaten 51 off just 31 deliveries to guide Fortune Barishal to 194-5 in 20 overs against Khulna Tigers on Friday.

The right-hander now became a joint leading run-scorer in the tournament, with his teammate Shakib Al Hasan, who also scored 347 runs.

When he came at the crease, the Barishal were 97-2 in 12 overs. He made a 52-run stand with Shakib, before finishing the innings in style.

The Pakistan international struck three boundaries and as many maximums in his blistering knock.

Earlier in the season, Iftikhar scored his maiden century from only 45 balls against Rangpur Riders.
