An American has hunted a Kashmir Markhor, for which he obtained a permit from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department, for one hundred and five thousand US dollars. The size of the trophy hunting horns is 45 inches.

The nine-year-old Markhor has thus become the first victim of the year, at Tooshi-Shasha Community Managed Game Reserve, a village on the outskirts of Chitral city, the KP department tweeted and Chitral Times reported subsequently.

Klimper Todd Kevin obtained a permit from the wildlife department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Rs2.45 million.

In November, the wildlife department auctioned four permits for Markhors, which are categorised as endangered species. However, these auctions raised over half a million dollars.
